Learn to Stitch

Students will be introduced to basic hand and machine sewing techniques while making a series of fun and functional projects. Working with both commercial and recycled materials, students will learn sewing construction and embellishment, ultimately incorporating elements of their own design. Whether the goal is sewing for your home, making clothing, quilting, or other projects, this class will give you the foundation to get started off on the right foot! (Please bring a rotary cutter and cutting matt to the first class). Class limit is 12.

NEW Fibre Arts

In this 4 week course we will learn and explore some of the basic textile techniques including knitting, crochet, embroidery, basketry, and felting. This course will encourage artistic exploration of these techniques to create your own style of work. Students will be encouraged to work with alternative materials such as plastic and metal and ideas will be developed through material exploration. This course offers a great opportunity to use the myriad of supplies that can be found in your craft cupboard! Suitable for beginners and those who wish to expand their knowledge of textiles and the creative uses for these techniques.
